great interview with Tim Keller

A fantastic article in First Things with Pastor Tim Keller regarding his book ‘A Reason for God’

One long quote from the article:
I don’t mention it in [The Reason for God], but I think there are always doubts that, if you come to grips with them—I think there’s doubts that you have, that you […]

Anyway, a St. Patrick’s Day prayer for you ( a little late)

A good friend of mine in MN — Josh, sent this over to me. I was challenged & blessed by Francis Chan’s words… “say whatever I tell you to say…”

Tim Keller & Dostoevsky

I have a thing for Tim Keller - a pastor from NYC.

He and his ministry challenges and inspires me like no other. I would like our ministry here at Kairos to hopefully (without emulating) — glean the best from what they do and try to put that into practice here in Hollywood.
Anyway, I read today […]

Posted by greglarson in Church, quotes, theology at 4:28 pm | Permanent Link

If we believe that what Luther meant for his posting of the 95 theses was just the start, and that he meant for the work of ‘reforming’ the church, was to go on & not stop (semper reformanda, “always reforming”) — then you will enjoy this quote:
“What a lot of people call church in America […]

When Saul of Tarsus set out on his journey to Damascus the whole of the known world lay in bondage. There was one state, and […]

thoughts on Titus

Posted by greglarson in Books, theology at 7:53 am | Permanent Link

So, I have been reading through Titus here lately, and at the very beginning of the book — there is an interesting thought (in the Message bible). I have never quite thought of it this way before…
“I, Paul, am God’s slave and Christ’s agent for promoting the faith among God’s chosen people, getting out the […]

America’s frustration with Christians…

Posted by greglarson in Church, theology at 10:30 am | Permanent Link

Interesting juxtaposition of readings for me here today…
First I read this article: A New Generation Expresses its Skepticism and Frustration with Christianity
Then I read this article about Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa investigating Televangelists’ finances.
They seem to be sadly linked in my opinion.
