sacred journeys

This is really surreal. Although right in the city of LA - you cannot see the fires, you can smell them & see the faint smoke (or maybe that is heavy smog today).

Here is the latest from the LA Times…

As temperatures and winds again rise, officials say containment of major blazes is days away at the earliest. More than 1,000 homes have been lost, and the death toll is at six.

I also read that 500,000 people are/will be evacuated. I will say that again — that is surreal.

Michelle and I have good friends in north San Diego county (Bob & Carin) — that I tried to call, but could not get a hold of them. I think their house in right in the center of it all. Pray for them if you think of it.
